the lizardman made me do it.. making sense of our weirdest encounters

I like to talk about my psychedelic experiences. I find that by trying to talk about them with others, especially people who have not had the experience, I am very aware of not sounding totally deranged; and the effort this entails seems to help me convince myself. By contextualising it for wider consumption, it seems to allow me to gain deeper insight into the possible meaning of the experiences themselves; and to integrate these lessons into my weltanschauung.
The method I favour is to establish myself as a credible person over quite a long period of time; and then casually slip into the conversation something along the lines of,' Have you ever had an out of body experience?'; I can then launch into the tale of my experiences out of the body, and decide on a case by case basis whether or not to mention the ingestion of lsd as the catalyst. I am constantly amazed at the positive responses I recieve from people when I let them in on my deepest darkest secrets. People are hungry for information from psychonauts, they are sick of the taboo on sharing these experiences. This blog seeks to redress this situation.
For the moment, I think I will focus on the content and narrative structure of the experiences themselves, and leave the actual nuts and bolts of what was taken and how for possible investigation at a later point in time. So, as usual, kudos to Chris Knowles at the secretsun, the impetus for this post comes from a comment in a thread at his facebook page.
As I blow the last vestiges of smoke from my lungs, I lean back and surrender to the process.Whoa! this is serious, I am being fairly rapidly transported through the familiar sequence of neon geometry coalescing into the chrysanthenum shape, which seems to mark a doorway or portal to the landscapes the chemistry of my brain is unlocking, I am in the stained glass dome of the cathedral where I have been, previously. My expectation of physical bliss and a light show is soon forgotten as I am shot out of this space, more portal type imagery, and find myself on another planet, I am in the presence of others, and I seem to be underground. Getting my bearings, I realise that I am in a mine. That praying mantis creature over there is mining 'spice', the same spice i used to get here, and that very martial looking lizardman is guarding him, or the 'spice' which is universally valuable. We all get over the shock of being aware of each others appearance. Even though we are aware of the conscious presence of each other, accompanied by visual data, it is like remote viewing in a sense, there is no concern of physical interaction. From what I gather, the lizardman is about as low on the totem pole as it is possible to be in a vast colonial empire of warrior merchants. In my only other encounter with a 'reptilian', he was resplendent in a gleaming light body, these guys are more flesh and blood, boots and leather. The praying mantis on the other hand is just that; he stands on hind legs, similar in size to the lizardman. From the lizards perspective, the mantis is a slave, useful for the ability to locate and process the 'spice', the sole reason for their presence on this denuded rock at the arse end of the universe. But the mantis seems to take a bigger picture view of things, and allows the current situation to exist as it suits his secretive purpose.

At this point in time, I am pretty well able to bi-locate from the spice mine to my lounge room by opening and closing my eyes. I get up and change the music, which along with the itunes images is really bizarre and definitely in some kind of feedback loop with the consciousness of my friend, who is totally passed out, and I. I sit down, have another pipe and close my eyes. I am right back at the spice mine, where the lizardman seems amused with me, I am rather abruptly transported to the void. I become aware of another, obviously senior lizardman. We are not at the mine, although I know that he is the big lizardman there. We are in the void. The lizardman is performing a set of martial arts moves, with a two handed curved sword\blade. And he is putting on a bit of a show. Then he starts communicating to me how he is from a superior race, with a culture stretching back millions of years. That we are created by them, to generate the cerebro spinal fluid which contains their consciously created reality. This is quite a chunk to take in, and i get to thinking, what is so scary that these guys need to hide from it in there. At which point the sword starts to communicate with me. The edge of the blade of the lizardmans sword is decorated(?) with a precious metal, which glows blue and is intelligent. It explains that it is the real intelligence and the cultural driver behind the reptilian civilisation. It is magnificent to behold. Meanwhile back in the void, the chief lizardman has finished his exercises, and aware of the fact that I have been communicated to by the metal, is keen to demonstrate his prowess, and the union of sword and soldier that will occur when he draws that sword. As he draws the sword I realise that if he draws it, he must kill with it before he can sheath it. I let him know that a demonstration is definitely out of the question, I thought I could not be responsible for a death of a being just for my titillation. This caused him to scoff at me for being such a pussy; and the experience was pretty well over instantaneously. I will admit to regret over my intervention, I think that I may well have squibbed on the oppurtunity to learn a deep lesson about myself because of a persona mask I choose to identify with in the here and now. And so it goes.
Until today, I hadn't given this experience a whole lot of thought. It was by no means a typical experience for that point in time. It had elements of the more regular experience, but seemed to launch into different territory. Without getting too bogged down in technical details, the form of 'spice' we were using is virtually impossible to determine dose and purity, a real case of suck it and see. Today, when I mentioned it on facebook, it seemed to be fairly obvious that the lizardmen were representational of my left brain, linear, rational side; whilst the hive minded mantis represented the right brain, chaotic, intuitive side. According to google:
"An appearance from the mantis is a message to be still, go within, meditate, get quite and reach a place of calm. It may also a sign for you to be more mindful of the choices you are making and confirm that these choices are congruent. "
Which does make sense. This experience happened about five years ago, and i have been hit with the meditation instruction fairly consistently over that time as well as a 'stop smoking' instruction. Both of which I have failed to make a serious concerted effort to comply with. I think you could be forgiven for interpreting the story as a meta narrative for what i was trying to achieve with the entheogen. I was using my left brained cultural imperialist, as a means to violently force the right brained keeper of the secrets to give up the prize I had failed to earn. That this sort of behaviour could have unforeseen consequences in my life and that I should proceed with caution. That is the interpretation that jumped out at me today. It is never just one thing, and is always relative to the perspective it is viewed from.
.      Google had this to say with respect to the lizards:
"If you are in contact with reptile animal totems on any kind, tune into the message they are trying to convey to you. Very often, the message reveals hints about dealing with difficult situations (adaptation) – and doing so wisely, while still maintaining integrity. Also, the message might also relate to a matter of independence – a reminder to not be a slave to your external conditions – and realizing that internal changes will truly set you free. " Fair enough.
A C.G.Jung quote was put up in response to the summarised version of the story, which was particularly apt I thought.  "The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge."

"If you imagine someone who is brave enough to withdraw all his projections, then you get an individual who is conscious of a pretty thick shadow. Such a man has saddled himself with new problems and conflicts. He has become a serious problem to himself, as he is now unable to say that they do this or that, they are wrong, and they must be fought against. He lives in the "House of the Gathering." Such a man knows that whatever is wrong in the world is in himself, and if he only learns to deal with his own shadow he has done something real for the world. He has succeeded in shouldering at least an infinitesimal part of the gigantic, unsolved social problems of our day."

"Taking it in its deepest sense, the shadow is the invisible saurian tail that man still drags behind him. Carefully amputated, it becomes the healing serpent of the mysteries." Enough said.

  2. Very fascinating stuff, Dan. You strike me as a particularly balanced and insightful psychonaut, based on your writings here. Thank you for having the courage to publicly share your experiences. I particularly like the Jung quotes, especially:

"He lives in the "House of the Gathering." Such a man knows that whatever is wrong in the world is in himself, and if he only learns to deal with his own shadow he has done something real for the world. He has succeeded in shouldering at least an infinitesimal part of the gigantic, unsolved social problems of our day."

    More power to you, friend.

I just saw David Icke give an eleven hour talk on the weekend, and that above comment may explain quite a lot about David's own life journey.Interestingly,he confessed to using Ayahuasca in a trip to the Amazon in 2003,which I never heard about before.
The whole talk was videoed to be sold at a later date, and while I don't agree with everything David says, there certainly is plenty of food for thought. It's just a matter of fishing the baby out of the bathwater.
I would recommend a viewing if you get a chance.
    Cheers.

  5. Also Dan,I noticed when I click on most links to get to this blog,I get the following message;

    " Blog has been removed
Sorry, the blog at theturgidmiasmaofexperience.blogspot.com has been removed. This address is not available for new blogs. "

I just wondered if this was a mistake,or whether you have decided to pull the blog off the net?

  6. thanks for the kind words and encouragement darren. i have a lot of time for david icke. i find him brave; to the point of his own detriment in the eyes of some; funny and smart, and am in complete agreement with you re the baby and the bathwater. this particular experience occurred after i was aware of ickes thesis, and i wouldn't be offended if it was suggested that his work had been an influence on the experience. the brief reference to the lizardman lightbody; which i intend to expand upon in a future post; occurred when i was a young boy and predated any knowledge of et's (elusive companions), reptilian or otherwise, and is a major reason why icke got my attention completely when i became aware of his work, and why i still have a lot of time and sympathy for the man.

  7. Thanks also for the heads up re the links Daz. When I originally made the blog, i mistakenly called it "The Turgid Miasma of Experience" and this was reflected in the original url. I corrected the title on the blog at the time but forgot about the url until last night when I put the post up. So last night I changed the url to http://theturgidmiasmaofexistence.blogspot.com and had forgotten that there were some preexisting links.sorry about that.

  8. Whilst on the subject of Ayahuasca and David Icke,I bought a Daniel Pinchbeck DVD at David's talk called "2012:Time for Change".The most interesting part of it for me (and there was some good interviews)was when Daniel was interviewing Sting about his Ayahuasca experiences. If you get a chance to see the DVD,go to the extra features where the whole interview is available.
If you go to the Reality Sand-which website, there is an ad for the DVD towards the bottom of the page.

  9. "Then he starts communicating to me how he is from a superior race, with a culture stretching back millions of years. That we are created by them, to generate the cerebro spinal fluid which contains their consciously created reality."

The first thing this story reminded me of is that Ayahuasca story I read in The Holographic Universe, which I quote here: scroll down a tad. Here is the story:

But the most dramatic experience he had during his spirit journey was an encounter with a group of winged, dragon-like beings that emerged from his spine. After they had crawled out of his body, they "projected" a visual scene in front of him in which they showed him what they said was the "true" history of the earth. Through a kind of "thought language" they explained that they were responsible for both the origin and evolution of all life on the planet. Indeed, they resided not only in human beings, but in all life, and had created the multitude of living forms that populates the earth to provide themselves with a hiding place from some undisclosed enemy in outer space (Harner notes that although the beings were almost like DNA, at the time, 1961, he knew nothing of DNA).

After this concatenation of visions was over, Harner sought out a blind Conibo shaman noted for his paranormal talents to talk to him about the experience. The shaman, who had made many excursions into the spirit world, nodded occasionally as Harner related the events that had befallen him, but when he told the old man about the dragon-like beings and their claim that they were the true masters of the earth, the shaman smiled with amusement. "Oh, they're always saying that. But they are only the Masters of Outer Darkness," he corrected.

There are amazing similarities between so many of these stories, which shows that they aren't "hallucinations" based on per-conceived notions about drug trips or forgotten childhood memories or anything. But why are they all so similar? Are the Reptillians and Mantis people "real" aliens that do or did exist somewhere that our consciousness can travel to? Are they mental representations of psychic mechanisms? Are they outside, yet connected to us inside via DNA or consciousness? It's all really cool to read about, though I don't know if we'll even know just what is going on..

  10. Interesting post Dan. TY for sharing.

So here’s a question. “What is wisdom”?

Wisdom can only be determined when the moment presents itself. WISDOM knows just what to do only at that moment, and this is only in reference to the 3D life experience. Wisdom never knows what to do before the moment arrives because wisdom doesn’t recognize time or space. Wisdom is always in the moment because there is only one moment in the original awareness state. Therefore, wisdom is never able to be manipulated because it has no preconceived idea of what is right or wrong, good or bad, past or future. The moment decides what needs to be done. In the 3D scope of things, moment by moment, for WISDOM, it is always now.

    Watch, Wait & Don't React!

    NUFF SAID!

  11. ViolatoR;
Hey Jeremy! Thanks for the feedback and thoughtful comment. I am really quite impressed that you took the time and effort to check out and respond to my rather shambolic (shambhala-ic) blog. The seeming ubiquitous nature of these experiences will only be further borne out in future posts. We can perhaps answer yes, to each of your insightful questions regarding the nature of the identity of these 'elusive companions'.cheers bhuddi, dan.

  12. hey Darren; i always have synchronous experiences with your blog and my current reading, thinking material. my synchs had been notably m.i.a for a while; though the drought broke the other day after a trip to the library. I recently read Daniel Pinchbecks book "2012-the return of Quetzlcoatl". For some reason I did not have great expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the book and would be happy to recommend it to others.
Jedi the One; thank you for your words of wisdom. I really appreciate the feedback. I am very keen to develop an environment where a community of commenters feel comfortable posting responses or starting a thread of discussion. Using the blog as a catalyst or starting point for an ongoing conversation. Particularly with regards to topics which may be considered a little too out there for general consumption.
Thats why I'm so very happy with the quality of the commenters, i am a fan of the blogs of each of you, and intend to add links to your blogs in the sidebar here as i figure out how to use blogger to its capacity.
    mucho appreciado amigos, dannyboy.

  13. Re:
"I am really quite impressed that you took the time and effort to check out and respond to my rather shambolic (shambhala-ic) blog."

Well here's a sync Dan.The main reason I was going to the Byron Bay Writer's festival was because on March 27th in the Abraxas Bookshop in Byron Bay I came across James Redfield's new book "The Twelfth Insight" and it stopped me in my tracks, because I had this Déjà vu feeling that this was an important book for me to read.
I had read his book "The Celestine Prophecy" years ago,and while I liked what he was trying to get across as far as synchronicity was involved,I really didn't enjoy the novel. But I had a nagging feeling that "The Twelfth Insight" would really be important in my life somehow. It was,but I hated that book even more than "The Celestine Prophecy".Now here's where meaningful coincidences really come in to play.It was announced that James Redfield would be the main attraction at the Byron Bay Writer's Festival in August this year (not that there weren't better and bigger authors in my opinion).I took this as a sign that I had to go,take "The Twelfth Insight" (even though I thought it was a pretty poor story)and get it signed by James. The only problem was that I was meant to be working that weekend and didn't have any annual leave that I could take.So I thought so much for synchronicity and intuition. But the funny thing was that I've worked for my present employer for 23 years and have not taken my long service yet.As fate would have it they were starting to ask employees if they would consider at least taking a few weeks of long service.Normally I would have digged my heels in and said no,but here was the opportunity to see James and go to the BBWF.I got the leave approved, booked my motel room, and bought my tickets to the BBWF.
A girl at work heard I was going and asked if I could take her James Redfield novel to be signed.I said OK,took her book packed my bags and was ready to meet James, then I hear he won't be coming because he got bitten by a spider in America and won't be able to fly because of it.Boy was I pissed, because I had to go now,I would lose too much money If I didn't go.But as luck would have it,I had a magical two days in Byron which I never would have had if I had never got that Déjà vu feeling upon seeing his book on the bookshelf that day.It wasn't the great book I thought it would be and I never got to meet James, but it led to some very deep and profound experiences that weekend that are still reverberating though my life now.
Now here's the synchronicity of your "(shambhala-ic) blog" staement. The book the girl at work gave me for James to sign and the book I'm reading at the moment, even though I'm yet to read a James Redfield novel I enjoyed is called "The Secret of Shambhala-In Search of the Eleventh Insight".Also two days ago I ordered "2012-the return of Quetzlcoatl" from Amazon. And right now I'm reading "Naked Lunch" by William S Burroughs.I think it's a big pile of crap, but it was on a list of books that came to me synchronisticly,so I've been slogging my way through it with good results.
Now Steve Winwood and Steely Dan are going to play at a winery just up the road from my place on Oct 23rd this year and I've always wanted to see a concert there, although I've never really heard of any of Steely Dan's music (at least not consciously, anyway) before, but I read on Wikipedia that they were named after a dildo in "Naked Lunch",and this morning on page 117 of "Naked Lunch" I read this passage,
    "...confidentially,girls I use Steely Dan's Yokohama,wouldn't you?
Danny Boy never lets you down."

  14. PART 2 of my comment
(I had to break the comment into two parts because the "post comment" button wouldn't let the comment go through at the original length)

I just had to mention that after seeing you sign dannyboy to the above comment.
The world of synchronicity is strange, but it does lead down some very interesting paths,if you wander far enough.Look's like I'll have to see Steely Dan play at the winery after all,if I'm to keep on the synchro path.

    Cheers / Daz

  15. brilliant daz; thanks so much for sharing that with us.the story resonated with me at every turn and the finale was awesome. honored to be associated with the incredible force of synchronicity.I definitely agree that you are obliged to attend the winery gig. i love the way you didn't let the fact you didn't really enjoy the redfield story interfere with your commitment to follow through on the intuition.

  16. Interesting post DannyBoy. I like your writing. Now it is courious to see discussions about reptiles/lizards...etc.

Please keep in mind who and what Jung is...HE IS AN ELITIST!!!! Yes one of the Elites of the world.

Our famed elites in the flesh...

The Bluebloods of Europe and the USA

They appear as normal and common, but they have a cold callousness about their demeanor. This is evidenced in the bluebloods of Europe and the eastern establishment of the United States. This is why all the presidents of the United States are related. All the presidents of the USA are cousins of varying degrees. The Roosevelts, Bushes, and Churchills are all related through King Edward Longshanks of England, over 800 years ago. These are direct physical descendants of the luciferian thought form that manifested the elite bloodlines, the direct descendants of the conjured up illusions of the luciferian thinking group egregore.

These elite are often referred to as the serpent gods of old. This is why, when it comes to manufacturing problems for the world, they have no qualms whatsoever about killing whoever needs to be killed and telling endless lies in an attempt to cover it up.

    SER-PENT = SIR 5 = SUR-VIVE = SIR SACRIFICE = RISE in reverse SACRED ICE

not only are the presidents of the USA, all related, but the Mafia families are also direct descendants of these bloodline families and close genetic relatives to the presidential families and the Bluebloods of Europe. Deceit, hypocrisy, manipulation, and the like, are the family characteristics of the elite.

Keep in mind, that the only reason this sounds like something out of a science-fiction movie is because we’ve been so hypnotically programmed from our birth, (and even carry our forefathers programming genetically within us), that to even contemplate anything contrary to the intellectual process, is sheer lunacy. When you keep this in mind, that the leaders – the illuminati families – are genetic and spiritual luciferian purebreds, which is to say, they’re in a deep hypnotic trance, it answers every question you have ever had about why the world is as it is.

We know the elite are intellectually entranced. They are completely obsessed with the reptilian part of the brain, the physical world and using the hypnotic subliminal power of suggestion working through this illusory body called humanity, to keep who we really are, out of touch with the awareness.

  17. Sweet post dboy,
and amazing to me that you can actually put it all together into a comprehensive form...!
I would love to see you illustrate an actual 'scene' that was emblazoned on your mind that day...a scene that stands out in your minds eye and 'sums up' the experience as a whole (if that's possible...)

looking forward to upcoming posts my friend!
